A classic high medieval sword from the 11th and 12thC using a very plain and austere guard and pommel, but none the less clearly following on from earlier Viking age swords, but this being a Xa blade is a just a little more pointed than its earlier cousins.
Built for cutting, but with a relatively long 79cm blade and sharp point, this is a formidable sword and was exactly of the type favoured through the early periods of the crusades and the endless low level warfare across most of Western Europe. The hand forged sword is made from 1060 spring steel.
Comes with a fantastic wood cored scabbard and period accurate belts.
Edge sharpness
Semi-Sharp is 'butter knife sharp'; it has a very fine flat on the edge. Sharp has been ground to give a reasonable cutting edge, but final honing, if required, is by the customer.
