Please note that during busy/sale periods we may not be able to respond immediately, as there will be little time to check emails so please be patient.
Sale of dangerous articles
The items I sell are intended to be as close to the original artefacts as possible meaning that many will be dangerous to either user or bystander if used incorrectly or even if used correctly. It is the purchasers’ responsibility to use the items safely and to make sure they do not contravene local laws.
Age restrictions
All items of a dangerous nature supplied by Tods Workshops Ltd will only be supplied to persons over the age of 18. We check ages of our customers and check addresses. If you are supplying us with false information to check this is breaking the law.
By adding an age restricted item to your cart you are confirming that you are of legal age to purchase the item. If you are in the UK, we will independently check your age, normally without needing to contact you. This check will be done immediately, prior to shipping your item.
When ordering dangerous items, please ensure that you provide us with your full name (no nicknames or initials), date of birth and address.
If we cannot satisfactorily establish your age, we will refund you in full.
Quality and after sales service
Please note that all colours of scabbards and grips are an example of the colour. All scabbards and grips are handmade/hand dyed individually and will vary in shade.
ALSO, WE WILL BE UNABLE TO CHANGE COLOURS ONCE ITEMS ARE ORDERED SO PLEASE BE SURE. THANK YOU.
PLEASE THINK VERY CAREFULLY ABOUT YOUR PURCHASE BEFORE PROCEEDING IF YOU ARE OUT OF THE UK. RETURNING ITEMS WILL COST YOU A LOT OF MONEY DUE TO THE COST OF POSTAGE AND WILL LEAVE YOU DISGRUNTLED! THERE IS A 10% RESTOCKING FEE FOR ALL ITEMS.
Please open and check your item IMMEDIATELY as problems will not be considered if they are discovered more than 14 days after the item has been delivered.
The items we supply are high quality, both in the materials and the workmanship, but they are items made largely in a period way to period standards.
What we mean by way of example, is that a sharp knife will cut a leather sheath if you squeeze the the sheath edge whilst drawing the knife. A modern manufacturer can get around this with design and material choices, but a historical manufacturer cannot. If you squeeze the sheath whilst drawing the knife and it or you gets cut, there is nothing wrong with the product, but there is something wrong with the way you draw it.
The items we sell are 'real' items and so will have many of the 'problems' that modern manufacture has got rid of and this means you have to look after them and there is a responsibility on you to up keep this side of the sales agreement.
On the other hand we have a great reputation for quality and service we like to upkeep and if there is a genuine issue with any item, we will strive to set it right. That is our side of the sales agreement.
Non faulty returns will encounter a 10% restocking fee. Postage costs cannot be refunded under these circumstances. Returned items must be sent via recorded delivery in original packaging or similarly protective packaging. All return customs/import/export charges to be paid by the customer.
Payment
There are 2 ways to pay on our 2 websites:
Debit/Credit card - You can pay directly by credit/debit card on the websites www.todcutler.com and www.todsworkshop.com. Please choose Debit/Credit card at the checkout and you will be guided through the process.
Paypal - YOU DO NOT NEED TO HAVE OR SET UP A PAYPAL ACCOUNT AS YOU CAN PAY BY CARD VIA PAYPAL. This is also available at the checkout. You can either pay using your PayPal account or if you do not have an account you can use the PayPal payment system via www.todsworkshop.com or www.todcutler.com without having a PayPal account or registering with Paypal (It is possible to use your debit/credit card for this system). Choose Paypal and follow the instructions at the checkout
We are not responsible for quality or customer queries buying from any other websites other than www.todcutler.com and www.todsworkshop.com using our shopify platform.
Transactions to Tods Workshop Ltd will be shown as "TODSWORKSHO" on your credit/debit card statement.
CANCELLED ORDERS
If you wish to cancel your order before items are sent out the a full refund can be given within 24hours. After this a 10% admin fee will be charged
RETURNS
Please DO NOT JUST SEND THE ITEM BACK. Items can be returned within 14 days of receipt by tracked and signed for delivery. Please wait for our confirmation as to where to send the item before sending and how to send it. Original postage charges will not be refunded and deducted from the refund. Any charges incurred on entry into the UK or added by the postal service will be deducted from the refund. Do ask questions before purchase as all items will incur a 10% restocking fee on return. In addition to this, any customs charges/postage incurred on re entry to the UK will be deducted from the refund. Once they have passed inspection the appropriate refund will be made. Any postage charges cannot be refunded. Postage is a killer I'm afraid.
Once agreed that the best plan is to send the item back, they will need to be sent back by signed for and tracked delivery agreed by Tod's Workshops ltd. We cannot accept any responsibility for excessive postal charges encountered by the customer. We cannot also accept responsibility for damages in transit of returned items. This is the customer's responsibility and we will not enter into any battles with couriers/postal systems from this end.
SHOPIFY is the order system we use and any refunds take between 7-10 working days to reach the customers account. The money leaves our account immediately and this is not something that we can control. This does also include the paypal refunds as these are done via the shopify system.
