German War Sword circa 1500
This German war sword from around 1500. It would look great on the hip of a Landsknecht or similar mercenary or soldier with a serious attitude. It's one hell of a cutter!
The hand forged sword is made from 1060 spring steel and features a very broad type 18c blade in a diamond section with typical twisted pommel and quillons with two side rings for great hand protection and also with a twisted motif.
The blade has been optimised for cutting and has loads of authority but with an acute point it is also well suited for point work.
The sword comes complete with a wood cored scabbard covered in naturally tanned leather and is highly decorated with incised and stamped decoration to the scabbard and belt. The scabbard and belt are finished with period correct buckles and belt furniture.
The scabbard can be re-rigged to be left handed but because of the work involved there will be an additional charge of £30 payable before shipping.
Please note that none of the sword bags are large enough to fit this sword. We are working on this...
