This German war sword from around 1500 is one hell of a cutter! It would look great on the hip of a Landsknecht or similar mercenary or soldier with a serious attitude.
The sword features a very broad type 18c blade in a diamond section with typical twisted pommel and quillons with two side rings for great hand protection and also with a twisted motif.
The blade has been optimised for cutting and has loads of authority but with an acute point it is also well suited for point work.
The sword comes complete with a wood cored scabbard covered in naturally tanned leather and is highly decorated with incised and stamped decoration to the scabbard and belt. The scabbard and belt are finished with period correct buckles and belt furniture.
Edge sharpness
Semi-Sharp is 'butter knife sharp'; it has a very fine flat on the edge. Sharp has been ground to give a reasonable cutting edge, but final honing, if required, is by the customer.
