Small personal seax based on the knives found at Birka, Sweden and dated to the 9th and 10thC. This style of knife is characterised by the use of extensive copper alloy edging to the sheath and a rounded tip to the blade. Sheath is available in brown only.
The blade is forged from EN45 carbon steel and the handle is made from rosewood, bone and horn with incised decoration.
The knife comes sharp to give a reasonable cutting edge, but final honing if required, is to be by the customer.
IMPORTANT Keep the blade oiled out of the sheath if being stored for extended periods.
