The Scottish Dirk was the classic dagger of both the Highland and Lowland Scots from the 17thC. It was originally a development of the older bollock dagger.
This dagger follows a classic form and is an example of one carved in black wood and comes with an almost triangular blade, again a feature of this classic style; single edged with a partially sharpened false edge.
The dagger comes with a double layer leather sheath with a choice of sheath colour (Black, brown, red, green, natural) some incised decoration and a decorated brass chape.
Grip length - 9cm/3.5"
Blade length 32cm/12.5"
Overall length - 42cm/15"
Edge sharpness
Semi-Sharp is 'butter knife sharp'; it has a very fine flat on the edge
Sharp has been ground to give a reasonable cutting edge, but final honing, if required, is by the customer.
Please note: The colours black, brown, green, red, natural, may vary in tone from the photos here. Each skin of leather is different and reacts differently to the dye so they may be darker or lighter in tone.
