Horn and Bone Layered Medieval Eating knife 14thC-15thC. This is a very striking middle class medieval eating knife that could be mistaken for high status. In fact the layers are a lowly, brass, bone and horn, so this is firmly middle class but a very pretty eating knife.
This example is based on 14thC Thames finds, but the style continued into the early 16thC
