14thC and 15thC hunting knife suitable for outdoorsmen, gamekeepers and farmers etc right across Europe. These knives are sturdily built and are perfect for outdoors activity and the country based life of most people at the time.
Based on numerous manuscript pictures and particularly the work of Gaston Phoebus as shown in the 'Book of the chase' - see some replicated here.
The smaller knife has a beech handle and fitted with a brass bolster plate and rivets, some file work to the spine and comes with a decorated naturally tanned leather sheath.
The larger knife comes with an ash handle with dot and circle decoration, brass bolster plates, filework to the spine and an 'eye' motif on the blade. Comes with a decorated naturally tanned leather sheath.
Both are available with black or brown sheathes and are in a limited run.

Edge sharpness
Semi-Sharp is 'butter knife sharp'; it has a very fine flat on the edge but can be sharpened for a little extra.
Sharp has been ground to give a reasonable edge, but final honing, if required, is by the customer.
