The Scottish Dirk was the classic dagger of both the Highland and Lowland Scots from the early 17thC through to the modern day as a Regimental weapon and was originally a development of the older bollock dagger.

This Scottish Dirk is characterised by a solid, barrel shaped grip, usually wood or metal, in this case Bronze, with a twisted tang button and a long single edged blade.  The pommel top is decorated with a flower pattern and the dagger comes with a simple double layer vegetable tanned leather sheath.  


Please note that the ‘actual grip’ on dirks are always short and the hand is intended to partially cover the haunches.

Edge sharpness

Semi-Sharp is 'butter knife sharp'; it has a very fine flat on the edge

Sharp has been ground to give a reasonable cutting edge, but final honing, if required, is by the customer.
