A traditional coffin handled Bowie knife with bone scales. Smaller than the very well known Bowie knife with guard (see Bowie knife TC77).
Whether or not this particular style of knife, or indeed any particular style of knife, was used by Jim Bowie, we will never quite know but nonetheless this style also carries the name of Bowie knife and became a required item for frontiers men, adventurers and the rough and tough of the US through the American Civil War and on to the early 20thC.
There is no fixed design for the knife, but ours follow set precedents of a thick and substantial blade, clipped point with false edge and traditional coffin shaped handle with no guard.
It has a carbon steel sharpened blade and bolsters and comes with a vegtan sheath in either Natural or Brown.
Total length 23.5cm/9.25"
Blade length 12.5cm/5"
Grip length 11cm/4.5"
Blade width 3cm/1.25"
Please note: The colours may vary in tone from the photos here. Each skin of leather is different and reacts differently to the dye so they may be darker or lighter in tone
