This substantial medieval rondel dagger is based on a Museum of London piece and is definitely a soldiers weapon and dated from the end of the 14thC and through most of the 15thC.

The wooden grip is carved with a barley twist and the rondels are fabricated from brass discs riveted together with brass and steel rivets and the peen is finished with a decorative washer.

The blade is single edged as most medieval rondel daggers were and is long and very substantial a 8mm thick.

The sheath is a double layer of veg tan leather with risers and finished with a brass chape.

This dagger comes semi-sharp with a 1mm edge and is also available sharpened for a small extra charge.

Blade length 33cm/13"

Grip 10cm/4"

Overall length 46cm/18"

Edge sharpness

Semi-Sharp is 'butter knife sharp'; it has a very fine flat on the edge

Sharp has been ground to give a reasonable cutting edge, but final honing, if required, is by the customer.
