Medieval Arming Sword Type XIV (Type 14) Sword 1270-1350
This medieval historical replica sword comes complete with a period appropriate leather covered, wood cored scabbard and belt with copper alloy fittings. Sword is hand forged, hardened and tempered from EN45 steel and comes semi-sharp as standard. For Medieval reenactment.
Popular in most of Western Europe, this style of short double edged sword was a favourite of Men at Arms and foot soldiers of a good status, but not high enough to be of the knightly class and although very few exist in collections they are commonly seen in art of the time. All these powerful swords are characterised by their wide relatively short blade that flares even wider at the hilt, a sharp point, downturned guard and wheel pommel.

Edge sharpness
Semi-Sharp is 'butter knife sharp'; it has a very fine flat on the edge. Sharp has been ground to give a reasonable cutting edge, but final honing, if required, is by the customer.
