This simple but substantial 15thC rondel dagger is based on a piece in the Royal Armouries in Leeds (The X599, pictured below). The simple style of a wooden grip (made from ash) with copper twisted wires gives amazing grip and understated elegance; exactly the features an up and coming or wannabe man at arms would cherish.
It has an ash grip of just the right diameter to get a really tight hold, wires to stop it slipping and a long and substantial and long double sided diamond section blade and finished with a brass tang button.
Comes with a double layer naturally tanned (veg tan) leather sheath, finished with a latten (brass) chape and suspended from cords.
Grip length 11cm/4.25"
Blade length 40cm/15.75"
Overall length 52cm/20.5"
As our knives are handmade, these measurements may vary very slightly between examples.
Edge Sharpness
Semi-Sharp is 'butter knife sharp'; it has a very fine flat on the edge
Sharp has been ground to give a reasonable cutting edge, but final honing, if required, is by the customer.
