This post medieval eating knife is styled after knives from the late 16thC all through the 17thC. Dated from around 1580 -1680. Knives like this were carried by everyone and used both for eating and small tasks.
The distinctive knife features a whittle tang construction and a faceted hexagonal ash grip swelling at the end and is finished with a brass tang button. The bolster of the blade is sculpted with filed decoration to give a very period correct and stunning piece.

The knife comes in a double layer vegetable tanned leather sheath with incised and stamped decoration.
