Bowie knife with bone handle
A traditional coffin handled Bowie knife with bone scales. Smaller than the very well known Bowie knife with guard (see TC77 Bowie knife).
Whether or not this particular style of knife, or indeed any particular style of knife, was used by Jim Bowie, we will never quite know but nonetheless this style also carries the name of Bowie knife and became a required item for frontiers men, adventurers and the rough and tough of the US through the American Civil War and on to the early 20thC.
There is no fixed design for the knife, but ours follow set precedents of a thick and substantial blade, clipped point with false edge and traditional coffin shaped handle with no guard.
It has a carbon steel sharpened blade and bolsters and comes with a vegtan sheath in natural or brown.
