13thC Single Handed Sword
A classic medieval sword from the 13th and 14thC using a type XVI blade. These blades are absolute cutting blades as most of the target they were facing could be attacked with a cut, but the sharper point, when compared to earlier swords, shows that the improved plate and mail defences are now on the target list.
Aesthetically, the wheel pommel and prominent tang button combined with a deceptively simple guard of octagonal section, make this plain at first glance but subtly and classically styled.
Built for cutting, but with a relatively long 79cm blade and sharp point, this is a formidable sword.
Comes with a fantastic wood cored scabbard and period accurate belts.
