Small and simple eating knife, suitable for viking or Saxon period, with a stout purposeful blade and a tough brown veg tan leather sheath decorated with carved and incised decoration. This knife will suit Viking or Saxon simple folk from the 9thC-13thC.
The blade is forged from EN45 carbon steel and is left with a band of ‘brute de forge’ hammering along the false edge. Handle is made from olive wood and bone.
The knife comes sharp to give a reasonable cutting edge, but final honing if required, is to be by the customer.
IMPORTANT: Please keep the blade oiled after use and out of the sheath for storage
Blade length 10.5cm/4”
Handle length 11cm/4.25”
Overall length 22cm/8.5”
Please note: The colours may vary in tone from the photos here. Each skin of leather is different and reacts differently to the dye so they may be darker or lighter in tone
