Cleaver Falchion - 13thC to 14thC Reproduction Medieval Sword
This sword was popular with Crusaders. It is from the same type as the Conyers Falchion, an Iconic sword. Of all the falchion styles it is most optimised for cutting and cleaving! Crusaders and low level soldiers loved this small handy and efficient sword through the 13th and 14th centuries right across Europe.
The cleaver falchion blade is short and handy and although the blade widens massively toward the tip, the extreme distal taper ensures this sword is light and nimble in the hand. The blade is thinned (just like the originals) 2.6mm at 18cm from the guard. These wide, thin blades are hell to forge and they all have some undulation in surfaces and that is just the way they were and are but I can assure you they are the perfect medieval addition to your soldiers kit.
